FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons wide receiver Roddy White, holder of all of the team's receiving records, is back for his 11th season with the team and spoke with the media after practice on Friday.
White talked about his the receivers, Julio Jones, his knee that was drained back in June and how team practiced.
Here’s what he had to say:
Q: Why did you all end practice early?
A: We got through some of the periods before the time was up. That's pretty good. That means we're moving fast.

Q: How did (wide receiver) Leonard Hankerson look today?
A: He did good. He made a lot of plays today, especially on the bench (route) he caught over here and the over the middle route. We did a lot of good things today. We missed a couple of deep balls. We have to work on that to get our explosive game going. Other than that, we had a good day.
Q: How is the team adjusting to this quicker pace?
A: We are adjusting (well). I felt like we carried a lot over. Coach (spoke) about that, just form OTAs, to make sure you carry the speed over from the OTAs on to training camp. Be the best training camp player that you can be. That's what every guy on this team is working (toward).
Q: Do you like getting in, getting it done, instead of hanging around?
A: Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. The faster that we can get off the field the better. At the same time we have to learn and whatever mental errors that we make we have to go back and correct them.
Q: How can you tell if the guys are picking up the scheme change?
A: By just how fast we are getting in and out of the huddle. That's how you can tell if people know what they are doing. If they are lining up correctly and the play is getting off. Things like that where we don't have to stop, go back and do repeats. A lot of the plays today, we didn't have to do a lot of repeats and stuff like that. That's a sign that everybody is picking it up and we are moving fast.
Q: What’s the impact of having Julio Jones in camp?
A: It's good. He's been good throughout the whole process. He's been here and he's been accountable. That's good especially when you have a new coaching staff coming in. We need one of our best players to be here and be out here helping us get better. He's been doing a good job of that.
Q: How are you feeling?
A: I feel great. I'm good to go. No worries.
Q: How is the wide receiver corps doing as a whole?
A: I think we are doing pretty good. But you can never tell until you get into game situations. Then we'll have to go out there and execute. . . .We are catching balls. We are doing a good job of that. I just want to get us in game situations, go out there and see how we compete against other people.
