FLOWERY BRANCH -- Here are five things to know about the Falcons on Friday:

1. ICE IS CHILLING: Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is relaxing in Mexico with his wife Sarah and Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford.

2. YOUNG RETURNS: New defensive line coach Bryant Young returns to coaching after son's battle with cancer.

3. COACH STAFF COMPLETE: The Falcons announced additional coach position hirings, including a couple of former college head coaches and Charlie Weis Jr.

4. OFFSEASON CALENDAR: Next up is the scouting combine which is set for Feb. 28 through March 6 in Indianapolis. Here's a look at the offseason calendar.

5. UNIT-BY-UNIT ANALYSIS: The unit-by-unit analysis of the 2016 teams wraps up today with a look at the defensive backs at 10 a.m. and the special teams at 2 p.m. on AJC.Com.

Monday: The Quarterbacks

Tuesday: The running backs and Wide receivers

Wednesday: The tight ends at 10 a.m. and offensive line at 2 p.m.

Thursday: The defensive line at 10 a.m. and linebackers at 2 p.m.
