A real estate firm tied to the Perot family has acquired a portfolio of industrial buildings south of Atlanta.

U.S. Industrial Fund II, an affiliate of Hillwood Investment Properties, said Thursday it has acquired Westridge Logistics Center in Henry County. Westridge is near the I-75 and Ga. 155 interchange. Terms of the deal were not released.

Hillwood Investment Properties is part of the greater Perot Companies. Hillwood’s various entities own five other industrial or warehouse facilities in metro Atlanta. Hillwood was founded by Ross Perot Jr., son of the billionaire and former presidential candidate H. Ross Perot.

The industrial real estate market – which in the Atlanta area is most distribution centers – has been on tear since the recession as retailers and manufacturers have ramped up their investments. Atlanta is among the nation’s bigger distribution hubs, due in part to its rail, highway, air and proximity to the state’s ports.
