SEC teams are searching everywhere for QBs these days.

Les Miles has grabbed former Purdue starter Danny Etling, who was looking at possibly riding the bench this season for the Boilermakers.

He joins Chad Kelly (Clemson to JUCO to Ole Miss) and Greyson Lambert (Virginia to Georgia) among QBs heading to the SEC from other schools, but unlike those two, Etling will have to sit this season because of NCAA transfer rules.

His presence in 2016 doesn’t exactly instill confidence for LSU fans.

Etling has thrown for 2,490 yards with 16 TDs and 12 interceptions for the Boilermakers. He started seven games in 2013 and played in five last year, but was passed on the depth chart by Akeem Hunt.

Purdue has been one of the worst offensive teams in the FBS the past couple of years and averaged 23.8 points a game last fall, 95th in the nation.

Etling also visited Arkansas.

Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris split time at QB for the Tigers this fall, but Jennings, who is from Marietta, was one of three LSU players suspended last week after their arrests for unauthorized entry of a residence.

LSU was 10th in the SEC in total offense and 13th in scoring offense in 2014.
