Former AJC Super 11 linebacker Markuss Eligwe, who was dismissed from FSU for a rules violation last season, made an unofficial visit to UGA on Thursday.

He was an observer for UGA’s 7-on-7 high school tournament.

Eligwe starred at Stone Mountain High School in 2012, and he ended up signing with FSU, even though he was heavily recruited by UGA. Eligwe liked the Bulldogs enough to take an official visit after committing to FSU that year.

Last November, Eligwe was dismissed from FSU for an undisclosed rules violation. In 2013, Eligwe played in a reserve role for then-FSU defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, who works now in the same capacity for UGA.

What about UGA and Eligwe? It is unknown what level of interest the Bulldogs have in Eligwe. The Bulldogs are tight on scholarship numbers after signing 29 recruits this past year. Of course, a spot could open up if any of the team’s current quarterbacks (or other position players) decide to transfer before the season.
