The father of UGA’s newest football recruit tried to do everything he could to beat the Bulldogs.

Now Chad Clay, who committed to UGA over Ohio State and Florida on Monday, will be trying to do the opposite to the archrival of the Bulldogs, Georgia Tech.

Clay's father, Willie "Big Play" Clay, played for Tech from 1988-91 and still leads the ACC school in career interceptions. The Jackets offered his son a scholarship, too, and finished fourth in the sweepstakes.

Chad Clay is a four-star recruit from Peachtree Ridge High School. He is rated as the state’s No. 22 overall prospect.

Clay is commit No. 12 for UGA's 2015 class, and third at defensive back, along with Malek Young of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Peach County's Tyrique McGhee.
