Could UGA pick up another commitment on Monday night?

Chad Clay, one of the state's top defensive backs, told the AJC that "he might" make his college decision on Monday night.

“Yeah, I might,” Clay said. “After talking with my family, we felt right about it (going ahead and announcing).”

Clay, who has been hinting at a decision over the last week, has UGA, Ohio State and Florida as his co-leaders. It is believed to be a head-to-head battle between UGA and Ohio State, with the Bulldogs being the heavy frontrunner.

Clay is a 4-star that attends Peachtree Ridge High School. He’s the state’s No. 22 overall prospect.

On Saturday morning, UGA defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt attended Clay’s spring scrimmage at Peachtree Ridge.

Clay is the son of former Georgia Tech football star Willie "Big Play" Clay, who remains the ACC school's all-time leader in career interceptions. The younger Clay has an offer from Tech and ranks the Yellow Jackets at No. 4 among his leaders.

UGA has 11 commitments so far for 2016.
