UGA's Mark Richt joked about the Michigan weather when he was asked if he plan to attend Jim Harbaugh's football camp next month.
"Hey, I don't know how many guys wanna go up there and freeze their tail off, but if that's what they want to do that's up for them," Richt told Macon.com's Seth Emerson on Tuesday night.
“But people are gonna come down here to recruit for a reason. There are good players. Good for them.”

The cold weather is often used against Big Ten schools in recruiting, even to the point where it's a running joke. But Michigan weather in June? It's like paradise, with highs in the 80s and lows in the 70s.
Harbaugh has upset other coaches, particularly the entire SEC, for taking advantage of an NCAA loophole to serve as a “guest coach” at summer camps more than 50 miles away from Michigan’s campus. Harbaugh will attend nine camps in seven days this summer, and then has invited representatives from every high school and college in the nation to come to Michigan camp in mid-June.
It looks like Richt won’t be making the trip to Michigan camp. ESPN.com reported that all of the SEC’s coaches have been instructed to skip it. The SEC has an existing rule that prohibits its coaches from working at camps away from campus.
But Richt did say that the SEC may have to “revisit” that particular rule at next month’s SEC meetings to keep up with the competition. For example, both Penn State and Nebraska are working at satellite camps at Georgia State in June.
“It could become more of an issue,” Richt told Macon.com. “For us as a league, we’ve decided we’ve chosen not to do it. If everybody else is doing it, and it’s hurting us in recruiting, then I’m sure we’ll change our SEC policy. Or at least it’ll be a big topic for discussion. And it’ll probably be a big one in Destin.”
