Les Miles has always had a way with words.
He didn't mince any of them when discussing high school football players from Louisiana who don't want to sign with LSU, according to the Baton Rouge Advocate.
Here’s what he said to a group of LSU fans on National Signing Day:
“If he finds a way to wiggle out of the finest state in America, if he finds a way not to enjoy Louisiana, if he doesn’t want to stay home, to hell with him.”
He must have a lot of problems with the five Louisiana kids who signed with Arizona. Or receiver Daylon Charlot, who will play for Nick Saban at Alabama. Texas A&M signed three players from Louisiana.
For the most part, Miles and his staff do an outstanding job of closing the state to other schools. LSU has signed 64 of 90 Louisiana top 10 prospects it has offered since 2006, the Advocate reported.
LSU signed the fifth-best class in the country on Wednesday, according to 247Sports, with two 5-star players and 11 4-stars. The 25-player class included 13 players from Louisiana.
“Certain style of man that grows up in Louisiana, says ‘You’re kidding me. This is the only place I want to go,’ ” Miles said at a earlier news conference on Wednesday, the Advocate reported.
