If you’re looking for a job or know someone who is, there were 96,834 openings in metro Atlanta last month, according to Simply Hired, an independent job search engine.
Job postings were up nearly 2 percent in metro Atlanta in October with the financial services, healthcare, technology, retail, manufacturing and hospitality industries doing the most hiring.
Nearly one-half of the top posting companies last month were healthcare-related. Simply Hired said the companies doing the most hiring locally were WellStar Health System (1), Deloitte (2), Northside Hospital (#3), Grady Healthcare (#4) and Piedmont Healthcare (#5).
The occupations in top demand included information technology; office and administrative, software development (web and computer); nurses, sales representatives (excluding retail); medical therapists, technicians and assistants, business compliance and operations (including logistics and supply chain); financial specialists (including accountants and tax professions); and motor vehicle operators for bus, taxis and delivery service drivers.
Nationally, job openings were up 3 percent.
