The lock downs at Alcovy High School and Liberty Middle School in Covington have been lifted. The schools were was put on lockdown Thursday while authorities investigated a violent threat a student allegedly posted on Facebook.

The Newton County sheriff told Channel 2 Action News the male student has been identified and was being questioned.

Officials don’t believe there is a danger to any students at this time.
