Say goodbye to the warmest winter on record with a warming trend, Channel 2 Action News meteorologists say.

Though last-minute, cold temperatures gave metro Atlanta area residents a taste of winter and some in the North Georgia mountains even saw snow last weekend.

Spring begins officially at 6:28 a.m. Monday, meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

After starting the day with temperatures in the 30 and 40-degree range and hitting the mid 50s by noon and climbing to the low 60s by late afternoon, Monahan said.

Current temperatures are 61 degrees in Atlanta, 55 degrees in Blairsville and 63 degrees in Griffin.
