Warm weather was expected Saturday in metro Atlanta. What we got was a record high for the date.

“ATL has officially broken the record high!” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Katie Walls said in a tweet.

The temp hit 77, breaking the old mark of 76, which was set in 1927, Walls said.

The high was forecast at 68.

The day had a 40 percent chance of rain, but “nothing all that heavy,” Monahan said.

Sunday’s high is expected to be 66, with a 30 percent chance of rain.
