The warmer temperatures are expected to drop into the 40s by midnight in Atlanta, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Expect them to stay there overnight and wake up to temps in the 30s, Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.
Temps were 50 degrees in Atlanta, 33 in Blairsville and 39 in Griffin before 10 p.m.
Earlier, sunshine boosted temperatures Thursday afternoon following a chilly start to the day.

Pollen stayed pretty low at 68 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air, according to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma.

It's far short of last year's season high of 4,107 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air. The pollen count this time last year was 5.
Soon enough, though, we’ll be back in high pollen territory.
According to the latest forecast, highs will reach 68 degrees Friday, 63 Saturday and 71 Sunday.
