Downpours move northeast out of metro Atlanta

Heavy downpours slowed down the evening commute in metro Atlanta, Channel 2 Action News Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

While the rain moves northeast out of the metro area Thursday night, more showers are expected over the next few days.

Some areas north of I-20 could get up to 2 inches of rain before early Saturday.

Currently, the temperature is 72 degrees in Atlanta.

The average high for this time of year is 88, according to Channel 2.
