There is good weather news and bad weather news.
While the forecast calls for highs of 69 degrees Saturday and 67 degrees Sunday, there is an 80 percent chance of rain both days, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Metro Atlanta could see thunderstorms, damaging winds, hail and maybe even an isolated tornado early Saturday.
“That’s a very small chance,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said. “But can’t rule out the severe storms that could produce something such as that during the day tomorrow.”
The rain should be gone before thousands start marching from the Center for Civil and Human Rights to the state capitol at 1 p.m., Minton said.
But showers may return Sunday. The exact timing of the showers is unclear.
“This is the type of system that will likely bring several rounds of showers and storms through the weekend,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “It won’t rain continuously this weekend, but rain will likely come and go a few times.”
Translation: Falcons fans may want to pack an umbrella.
Storms, however, aren’t expected to be as severe Sunday as they could be Saturday, meteorologists said.
