Wet weather to hit Atlanta later this week

Showers will stay out of Atlanta through Tuesday.
But the wet weather could return later this week, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Currently, the temperature is 54 degrees in Atlanta. The high was 66.

“Tomorrow looks pretty nice,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said, “but a big drop in temperatures compared to where we’ve been recently.”
Rain could return Wednesday, when there is a 60 percent chance. And thunderstorms could arrive Thursday, which “will be wet for the morning commute and much of the day,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.

The “main hazards will be gusty winds, lightning and heavy rain,” Minton said.
The extra rain could send cumulative rain totals for the week up to 3 inches.
