The sun came out Wednesday and the air stayed warm and dry throughout the day, but isolated rain showers are possible this evening, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Rain fell during the evening commute in northeast Cherokee County, Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

Showers will be few but possible in North Georgia and around the metro Atlanta area.

Overall, the chance of rain remains about 10 percent, though.

For some, it’s a welcomed break from days of showers that a cold front triggered this month, Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

“Fronts usually don’t get this far south this time of year,” Monahan said. “And when they do, it takes a lot of time for that front to get through.”

Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns has your Wednesday evening weather forecast.

Rain chances will diminish through the week, Monahan said.

Currently, the temperature is 75 degrees in Atlanta.
