Most of metro Atlanta has been dry and traffic on the roadways has been moderate — a rarity for a Monday.
That trend should continue until roughly 11 p.m., according to Channel 2 Action News.
“A few rumbles of thunder are possible through the evening hours,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “No thunderstorms, but it could be a stray shower. That will dry up after midnight.”
Lingering showers currently in Bartow County are expected to drift into Cobb and north Fulton counties.

A low-pressure system moving into the Southeast should instigate daily showers and storms through Wednesday, according to Channel 2.
“The area of low pressure spinning counter-clockwise is enhancing the development of showers across our area,” Nitz said, “and that’s going to remain the case for the next couple of days.”

This upper low will enhance our rain development over the next few days.

With the increased cloud cover and daily rain, temperatures should be a little lower than average for this time of year, according to Channel 2.
“Today, (Tuesday) and Wednesday will be the most likely days we'll see showers and storms with more widespread coverage, and that’s going to hold our temperatures down a little,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.
Monday reached a high of 84 degrees.
Clouds and rain will keep our temperatures down in the mid 80s, about 4° below average.

Aside from the typical congestion, there are few incidents to slow things down, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center. Even the daily construction on the I-285 Inner Loop through Cobb County hasn’t done too much damage.
A car fire in the northbound lanes of I-75 near Forest Park Drive is causing delays, and construction is ongoing to fix a sinkhole on Venture Drive in Duluth.
