No major wrecks and, miraculously, no rain in sight.
Despite the cloudy outlook, Atlanta has managed to remain dry much of Monday, according to Channel 2 Action News.
There was a 60 percent chance of rain projected for the metro area, but most of the showers have been north of Atlanta.
“A rather tranquil afternoon for most of us, but in North Georgia we still have a few showers,” Channel 2 Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

Though Atlanta has dodged the rain, there is still a risk of isolated showers through 11 p.m., Burns said.
But evening showers won’t reduce the heat by much. Temperatures are expected to be in the 80s through 9 p.m., according to Channel 2.
Metro Atlanta warmed up to a high of 87 Monday. The heat is expected to hold through the July 4 holiday, even if some celebrations will get wet Wednesday.
“There will be some showers, there will be some storms around, but the rain chance is 40 percent, so not everybody is going to see the rain,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

Preparations for the upcoming AJC Peachtree Road Race have prompted downtown road closures. Tenth Street between Charles Allen Drive Northeast and Monroe Drive have been closed since 9:30 a.m. Monday and will remain closed through 5 p.m. Wednesday. They opened briefly between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. for the Monday evening commute.

Monday was also the first workday under the new Georgia hands-free driving law, and the Traffic Center reminded drivers to put the phone down and rely on hands-free technology.
