We don’t get to say this often, but 6 p.m. traffic isn’t too bad around metro Atlanta.
There's still a slow spot or two, but it's a breeze compared to Monday's morning commute, which was covered in dense fog, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
The increased volume of drivers heading home has created southbound delays on the Downtown Connector toward I-20, the Traffic Center reported.
I-85 North is also a little slow after a wreck blocked nearly all lanes at Hamilton Road, the Traffic Center reported. All lanes have since reopened.
During the morning hours when a dense fog advisory was active, only the tops of skyscrapers were visible under a thick layer of clouds.

After the fog cleared, Monday afternoon was “beautiful” as Atlanta warmed into the mid-70s, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan. Atlanta was hovering at 75 degrees at 6 p.m.

“Tonight, the clouds thicken up,” Monahan said. “There’s going to be some more rain around in a few spots for the morning drive tomorrow. Much more rain coming Wednesday into Thursday.”

Rain is 40% likely Tuesday and Wednesday, but some storms are possible for the middle of the week, according to Channel 2. Halloween is looking “pretty wet and pretty stormy” with an 80% chance of rain, Monahan said.
“Right now it looks like pretty wet weather on Halloween and much cooler Friday, Saturday and Sunday,” he said.
Morning lows are expected to dip into the 40s in Atlanta over the weekend, and temperatures Sunday may not leave the 50s, according to the latest forecast.
