Clear skies and warm temperatures will give way to thunderstorms Thursday, Channel 2 Action News meteorologists said.

After a warm day filled with sunshine Wednesday, showers and storms are expected Thursday morning, meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

The temperature in Atlanta hit a high of 84 degrees Wednesday. The average high for this time of year is 75.

Currently, the temperature is 77.

“Enjoy it while it lasts,” Nitz said. “Things are going to change dramatically in less than 24 hours.”

Rain, however, is normally good news for pollen.

Following a wet start to the week, pollen levels have remained in the low to moderate range.

Wednesday’s pollen count was 30 particles per cubic meter of air, according to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma.
