After tying a record high of 80 degrees on Wednesday, Atlanta didn’t get out of the 50s today, according to Channel 2 Action News.

“We’ll stay(ed) sunny, breezy and cool through the afternoon,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

Current temps are 47 degrees in Atlanta, 41 in Blairsville and 39 in Griffin.

That’s just below the 61-degree average high for this time of year.

Channel 2's Darryn Moore reports.

Overnight storms that led to brief outages and downed tree limbs have moved out of metro Atlanta. The next chance of rain isn’t until next week, according to Channel 2.

The next few mornings are expected to start in the 30s, Channel 2 Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said. Friday morning temps should start at 38 degrees with highs in the 50s.

Atlanta won’t see highs in the mid-60s again until Sunday.

A cold front is expected to usher in a 80 percent rain chance Tuesday, Burns said. Highs could reach the 70s next week.
