You won’t be able to tell this afternoon, but the summer-like weather is finally expected to taper off for metro Atlanta, according to Channel 2 Action News.

After a cold front that was barely noticeable Thursday with a high of 91 degrees, “we’re going to be bringing a second front through later on today,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said Friday.

That is going to usher in lower humidity and cooler air, which should make for a “fantastic weekend,” Minton said.

You may even need a light sweater Sunday morning, according to the news station.

But Friday has more hot weather in store.

Currently, the temperature is 82 degrees in Atlanta.

“All things considered,” Channel 2 meteorologist Katie Walls said, “it’s shaping up to be a beautiful evening.”

The high is expected to reach 87 before dropping to 79 Saturday and 74 Sunday.

The average high for this time of year is 78, Channel 2 reported.
