“Between now and Friday,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said, “expect a lot of rain.”

According to the latest forecast, the best chance of rain is north of I-20.

Currently, the temperature is 78 degrees in Atlanta.

The high Tuesday is expected to be 81 as a cold front moves through North Georgia, Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

“As this front drifts to the south,” he said, “we’ll see scattered showers and some rumbles of thunder around (Tuesday) morning.”

Gusty winds, lightning and small hail are also in the forecast.
