It’s going to be a cold night tonight, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

After strong winds put trees weakened by heavy snowfall at risk for much of the afternoon and evening, temperatures are falling and expected to drop below freezing overnight, Channel 2 reported.

Wednesday morning is expected to start out in the upper 20s before the sun comes out and temps rise to a high of 46 degrees.

After a slight break in cold air Wednesday, metro Atlanta should brace for another Arctic blast on Friday, Burns said.

And there is a chance snow could return next week, meteorologist Brad Nitz said. He said he will be watching weather models closely over the next few days to determine the likelihood of snow on Monday.

But temperatures through next week show a warming trend, Burns said.

In the next six to 10 days, temps are expected to be much warmer than average.

"More 70s for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day," Burns said.
