Warm weather is expected to linger in metro Atlanta into next week.

“There’s no real drastic drop in temperatures anywhere,” Channel 2 Action News Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

The temperature in Atlanta surpassed the average high of 58 degrees for this time of year, reaching a high of 65.

Currently, it’s 59 in Atlanta, Channel 2 reported.

Dense fog could return later this evening for the high school football playoffs around the state, according to Channel 2.

Atlanta should wake up to 53 degrees Saturday and see a high in the low 60s leading up to the SEC Championship game between Georgia and Auburn at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

There is a chance of a light drizzle Saturday with rain chances at 20 percent, Channel 2 reported.

Atlanta could reach the 70s Sunday. Lows are expected to be in the 50s.

Metro Atlanta won’t see cold air until Wednesday when an arctic blast arrives and brings “jet stream winds,” Burns said.
