DeKalb County keeps warming centers open for residents on Sunday

DeKalb County will open several warming centers for residents to use on Sunday, officials announced Saturday evening.

The following fire stations will serve as warming centers, according to the county:

• Fire Station 3, 24 N. Clarendon Ave., Avondale Estates, Ga. 30002

• Fire Station 4, 4540 Flakes Mill Road, Ellenwood, Ga. 30294

• Fire Station 6, 2342 Flat Shoals Road, Atlanta, Ga. 30316

• Fire Station 25, 7136 Rockbridge, Stone Mountain, Ga. 30087

The administrative area of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, at 4415 Memorial Drive in Decatur  will also serve as a warming center. That facility is open 24 hours a day, according to officials. For more information, visit www.dekalbcountyga.gov

The weather forecast Sunday for metro Atlanta was for a high temperature of 36 degrees with clear skies, according to Channel 2 Action News. Saturday night’s low temperature was expected to be a below-freezing 20 degrees.
