It was a beautiful, clear Tuesday, but the chance of rain and storms goes up Wednesday.
Atlanta faces a 70 percent chance of thunderstorms Wednesday and an 80 percent chance Thursday.

The heaviest amount is likely in far North Georgia, where close to 3 inches of rainfall is possible by Friday morning, Channel 2 reported. In metro Atlanta, the Northside could get up to 2 inches but the Southside could get less than 1 inch.
Best chance for widespread, heavier rain tomorrow into Thursday will be over the north Georgia mountains. Expecting less rain over metro Atlanta, points south.

Either way, the sunshine is on its way out after today! You'll like the weekend forecast, though.
Currently, the temperature is 58 degrees in Atlanta. The high was 65.
Temperatures this month are 10.4 degrees above average, more than a degree higher than the previous record for the month, Monahan said.
However, it won’t be unseasonably warm for long.
High temps are expected to drop from the upper 60s Thursday to the low 60s Friday, Channel 2 reported. They are forecast to stay there through the weekend.

And by the second week of March, “a frost or light freeze is possible,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.
Temperatures around the second week of March will turn a little cooler than average with lows in the 30s and highs in the 50s. A frost or light freeze is possible.
