After a warm day with temperatures near the low 80s, metro Atlanta dropped into the 60s Wednesday night.

We’ve got “perfect weather with natural air conditioning,” Channel 2 Action News Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

But Burns said temperatures across the metro area will stay cool overnight, with Gainesville dropping to 59 degrees by 11 p.m.

Thursday’s high is 82 degrees and Friday is expected to be even warmer, though, Channel 2 reported.

The average high for this time of year is 76.

“This beautiful weather (is) here to stay” for a few more days, Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

Dry days are in the forecast through Friday, but gusty winds and rain are possible this weekend.

There is a 20 percent chance of rain Saturday and a 70 percent chance Sunday.
