Parts of Cobb and Carroll counties got between 12 and 13 inches of snow, Channel 2 Action News chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

At one point, 911 operators in Cobb County had a queue of more than 100 vehicle crashes during the storm’s peak. And thousands were left without power for days.

Channel 2 meteorologist Glenn Burns called it “the worst snowstorm since the blizzard of 1993.”

Although Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport only picked up about 4 inches of snow in 1993, the northern suburbs got about a foot in some cases, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

But snowfall amounts in Cobb and Carroll failed to reach that mark 24 years ago.

This year, the counties were only surpassed by Paulding, where 14 inches of snow was recorded in Douglasville, Channel 2 reported.
