What a strange weather week.

First a freeze warning. And now metro Atlanta is poised to hit the 60s.

Meterologist Brad Nitz has your early Friday evening weather forecast.

Less than four hours after a freeze warning expired in metro Atlanta, temps are 51 degrees in Atlanta, 38 in Blairsville and 52 in Griffin.

“We’ll have a light southwesterly breeze later today,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “You combine that with some breaks in the clouds, it will help warm us up.”

Highs are expected to reach 66 degrees in Atlanta, 59 in Blairsville and 68 in Griffin on Friday.

By about 11 p.m., showers will start in metro Atlanta. The rain will continue early Saturday, Nitz said.
