Temperatures are looking up, forecasters say.

The Mercury will climb from the frigid 20s that greeted early-morning Black Friday bargain hunters in metro Atlanta to the mid-50s, Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz.

“Clear skies, dry roads, but it is cold out there,” Nitz said. “We’ll still be in the 30s by 9 o’clock this morning. We are going to climb into the 50s this afternoon.”

Expect sunshine through the day, with partly cloudy skies on Saturday and Sunday for Thanksgiving travelers departing the area, forecasters said.

Lows will be in the 30s the remainder of the weekend, rising to the 40s for Monday and Tues, with a 20-percent chance of precipitation on Monday.
