The National Weather Service has confirmed a weak tornado touched down in Floyd County overnight as a system of strong storms moved through North Georgia.

A NWS survey team determined that EF0-strength winds, about 75 mph, touched down along a short track on Booger Hollow Road east of Cave Spring, Channel 2 Action News reported.

A final determination on the tornado’s strength has not been made, Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said. The tornado’s start and end time, path length and width, and overall rating will be determined at a later time, he said.

The roofs of multiple mobile homes were damaged, the news station reported. One home’s carport was destroyed, and a trampoline was lifted into the air mangled when the tornado-force winds came through.
