More rain is on the way Tuesday, forecasters say.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Karen Minton said tropical air masses lingering over much of north Georgia, including the metro area, could trigger rainfall.

“Just about any time during the day, those will fire up,” Minton said. “Then they’ll rain themselves out then they’ll move downstream and another one will take its place.”

Drive-time weather Tuesday morning will be clear with temperatures in the 70s, forecasters predict.

With chances of rain staying around 40 percent for the next few days, look for high temperatures in the mid- to upper-80s.

But persistent rain will give way to intermittent squalls with periodic spots of sunlight breaking through, Minton said.

“While we’re not looking at wide-spread rain and overcast skies like we were a couple of days ago, we are looking at pop-up rain for the next few days,” she said.
