Metro Atlanta is experiencing a mix of sun, clouds and gusty winds, according to Channel 2 Action News.

“We’re going to keep that breeze right on through the day,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

But despite the wind, earlier sunshine helped temps increase well above the 54-degree average high for this time of year, hitting a high of 70 in Atlanta.

Temperatures just after 4 p.m. were 70 degrees in Atlanta, 60 in Blairsville and 69 in Griffin.

"Over the last couple hours, we’ve gone from an absolutely clear blue sky to some clouds,” Nitz said. “We have a mix of sun and clouds out there.”

Lithonia, Loganville, Fairburn, Fayetteville, McDonough, Covington, Douglasville, Dallas and Winder will all reach the 70s, according to Channel 2.

Highs will drop to the 60s Thursday, and there is a 20 percent chance of rain, the news station reported.
