Although Powder Springs and Marietta saw afternoon showers and downpours, most of metro Atlanta will stay dry Wednesday evening.

There is a 30 percent chance of rain, but heavy showers and storms will be “few and far between,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

Currently, the temperature is 85 degrees in Atlanta, with a high dew point making the air feel sticky and heavy, Channel 2 reported.

The high on Wednesday hit 91 degrees.

Thursday morning temperatures are expected to hover in the mid 70s with a mix of clouds and sun.

The afternoon brings a 40 percent chance of scattered showers and a high of 90 degrees.

The weather pattern through the weekend continues to show clouds and a 30 percent chance of rain, Channel 2 reported.
