It’s a comfortable 60 degrees and Atlanta can expect more of the same Friday afternoon.

But the city must first fight through the return of 40-degree weather.

Wake-up weather is expected to 49 degrees by 7 a.m., Channel 2 Action News reported. Temperatures are expected to continue increasing, with a forecast high of 72 on Friday.

A cold front is expected Saturday morning that could bring the coldest air of the season in the form of a drop to the 30s Monday.

Lows are expected to hit 55 Saturday, 39 Sunday and 37 Monday, Channel 2 reported.

“Likely we’ll see our first frost across metro Atlanta Monday morning,” Channel 2 meterologist Brad Nitz said.

So far, lows have dipped into the 40s in metro Atlanta. A frost advisory was only in effect for far North Georgia on Wednesday and Thursday morning.

Highs are expected to reach 60 Saturday, 54 Sunday and 60 Monday.

Rain is also in the forecast, Nitz said. There is a 90 percent chance of showers Saturday.

“So I expect Saturday to be a fairly wet day,” he said.
