While you’ll want to grab a jacket before heading out this afternoon, the weather is expected to improve with diminishing showers and warming temperatures, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.
Temperatures just before 5 p.m. were 51 degrees in Atlanta, 51 degrees in Calhoun and 55 degrees in LaGrange.
Rain showers are drying up as the sun breaks through the clouds and a warm front moves in, Monahan said.
“We’ll see more blue skies as we head toward kickoff of the Super Bowl,” Monahan said.
That warm front will help push temperatures back toward a high of 63 degrees Monday and highs near 70 degrees Tuesday.
