Mother Nature is blessing Braves fans with perfect weather Friday for the Braves' home opener at the new SunTrust Park.
“We’ve been talking about (the new stadium) for years, and here we go,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said. “The weather’s going to be absolutely perfect.”

There might be a few clouds, but Atlanta is expected to hit a high of 82 degrees. The average high for this time of the year is 72.
Currently, the temperature is 80 degrees in Atlanta. Temps are expected to be in the 80s when Braves fans start to pack SunTrust Park at 7 p.m., Minton said. The opening pitch against the San Diego Padres is at 7:35 p.m.
According to the latest forecast, temps will drop to 76 by 8 p.m. and 74 by 9 p.m.
“Also, your winds are going to be light, too,” she said. “Out of the southeast, barely up to 5, 6, 7 mph.”
For allergy sufferers, the warm weather is a blessing and a curse. According to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma, the pollen count dropped from 2,224 Thursday to 1,260 Friday. While the pollen count is lower than it was Thursday, it is still in the “high” range. Only one other designation — “extremely high” — is more severe.
The trend of warm weather and high pollen is expected to continue through early next week.
Highs are forecast to hit 80 degrees Saturday, 81 Easter Sunday and 81 Monday, Minton said.
While there is a 20 percent chance of rain Sunday, “most of the metro area stays dry,” she said.
Isolated showers are more likely in far North Georgia.
