The tree is decorated. The gifts are wrapped (well, almost). The cookies are baked and we're ready for the holiday celebrations to begin.

United Airlines offers a one-way rate of $147 to the following destinations on trips finished on or before Nov. 18, 2011:
- Jackson Hole, Wyo.
- Oklahoma City, Okla.
- Ontario, Orange County-Santa Ana, San Diego, San Jose or Sacramento, Calif.
- Portland, Ore.
- Salt Lake City
- Steamboat Springs-Hayden or Vail-Eagle, Colo.
To qualify, give at least a 21-day advance notice of travel. Two-week advance purchase tickets are $20 more, each way. Travel is permitted seven days a week, based on sale seat availability.
This sale rate is not allowed on trips taken from June 12-July 22.
Taxes and fees are an additional $15 each way, give or take a dollar or two.
United serves these destinations with flight connections in either Chicago or Denver.
