Let’s start the year with a pair of superb deals to one of the most popular travel destinations - the Hawaiian Islands.

USAirways offers a round-trip rate of $660 to Honolulu, Oahu on trips finished on or before Nov. 27.

There are not many rules to land this deal. Go as soon as this week as an advance purchase notice is not required. Trips at this rate are valid seven days a week, based on sale seat availability. As well, there are no blackout dates or minimum stay requirements.

Rates drop to just $650 to Honolulu when you give a 30-day or more advance notice of travel. Add to the mix a rate of $710 to the Hawaiian island of Kauai (Lihue) when booking 30 or more days in advance. Trips must be finished on or before Nov. 27.

This sale offers significant savings when compared to rates of $1,000 to Oahu and $1,180 to Kauai offered by other airlines.

USAirways serves both islands with one flight connection in Phoenix.

One downside of these offers is that there is no ticket-by date. This means that the sale rates could vanish at anytime. Make haste with your ticket purchases.

Sale airfares are always subject to change. Every seat on every flight is not offered at the lowest rate.

I recommend starting the search for available seats at Kayak.com vs. calling an airline directly. You can also search for the sale at travel websites such as Expedia, Orbitz or Travelocity, etc. Airlines can discontinue or pull a sale price without notice when the offer does not have a “ticket-by” date or when the offer is deemed “sold out.”
