A pair of exceptional airfare deals are valid on springtime trips to Europe. The round-trip rates are not much higher than winter season rates which make these offers worthy of consideration for budget travelers.

For instance, depart for Rome, Italy from April 2-May 17 for a round-trip rate of $904.30. Rules vary slightly by carrier. Travel on British Airways/American via Chicago-O'Hare and stay up to 180 days or complete travel by June 15, whichever occurs first. Travel on United/Continental/Lufthansa via Frankfurt, Germany; Newark, N.J. or Washington DC-Dulles and stay a maximum of 30 days. British Airways permits the lowest rate on Sunday-Thursday travel in each direction. Other carriers permit the lowest rate on Sunday-Thursday departures and Monday-Thursday returns. Stopovers are not permitted on any participating carrier.

Delta Air Lines offers a round-trip rate of $939 on April 2-May 17 departures to Berlin or Frankfurt, Germany. Travel east Sunday-Thursday and return Monday-Thursday. Finish travel on or before June 15 or within 30 days of departure, whichever occurs first.

Travel on weekend days is an additional $25 each way to any of the above destinations.

Buy tickets through March 8.

Sale airfares are always subject to change. Every seat on every flight is not offered at the lowest rate. Since only a limited supply of seats is available, act quickly to make your purchase.

I recommend starting the search for available seats at Kayak.com vs. calling an airline directly. You can also search for these sale rates at travel web sites such as Expedia.com, Travelocity.com, etc.
