Travelzoo's second pick, Colombia, is discarding an "infamous past" and emerging as a popular tourist destination. Several airlines and hotel chains are expanding in the area – and all that competition means great deals for travelers. The Irish economy has taken some blows this year, so the country has started a campaign to draw in foreign tourists (and their money). The government is promoting festivals, concerts and other events – and airlines, hotels and resorts have joined in with special travel deals, according to Travelzoo.
