Airfares have been slashed to both sunny and snowy destinations — take your pick, but hurry — these deals are likely to vanish before the end of the day!

A $129 one-way rate to San Diego, valid for travel through Jan. 18, 2014 requires a 7-day advance purchase notice. Trips at this rate are valid only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Saturdays. Blackout dates are March 22-24, 28-31; April 1, 5; May 24, 27 and July 2-13. This American Airlines exclusive requires a flight connection in Dallas-Fort Worth.

One-way rates of $133 to Gunnison-Crested Butte, Colo. and $145 to Aspen, Colo. are valid on any day of the week starting on March 25 and through April 1. Book with American Airlines (connecting in Dallas-Fort Worth) or on United (connection required in Denver).

Travel to Steamboat Springs-Hayden or Vail-Eagle, Colo. at one-way rates of $139 or head to Jackson Hole, Wyom. Start trips on or after March 25 and finish travel on or before April 1. Valid only on American Airlines via Dallas-Fort Worth.

Sale airfares are always subject to change. Every seat on every flight is not offered at the lowest rate. Since only a limited supply of seats is available, act quickly to make your purchase.

Airlines can discontinue or pull a sale price without notice when the offer does not have a “ticket-by” date or when the offer is deemed “sold out.”

I recommend starting the search for available seats at Kayak.com vs. calling an airline directly. You can also search for the sale at travel websites such as Expedia, Orbitz or Travelocity, etc.
