It’s a rare occurence when an airline lifts advance purchase requirements for international travel. But today is the exception with a steal of a deal to Paris.

A today-only sales lets travelers head to the “City of Light” as soon as tonight or through Oct. 31 at a round-trip rate of $742. If that price seems high, consider that the lowest published rate for the deep and dark winter months is $1,130.

Paris is particularly lovely in the autumn - well, as is just about any place on the globe. But the throngs of tourists have departed which leaves the city ideal for exploring and romance.

That $742 rate is offered on partners American Airlines and British Airways with a required connection in Chicago, Miami or London. Travel is permitted on Sundays-Thursday in each direction. Add $15 each way for travel on Friday or Saturday. Stays of up to 180 days is permitted.

A round-trip rate of $770 is offered by partners United Airlines and Lufthansa. Depart Sundays-Thursdays and return Monday-Thursdays (other days are $15 higher, each way). A 30-day max stay is permitted. The carriers permit a free stopover in Newark (New York City) either to or from Paris.

Air Canada is another participant in this sale with a round-trip rate of $738. The carrier serves Paris with one flight connection in Toronto, Ontario (stopovers not allowed). Follow the United rules when booking on Air Canada.

So there’s plenty of opportunities to land this deal. Just do it today (9/12).

Start the search on how to save in Paris on dining, attractions and lodging at the official visitors bureau website: http://en.parisinfo.com.

Sale airfares are always subject to change. Every seat on every flight is not offered at the lowest rate.

I recommend starting the search for available seats at Kayak.com vs. calling an airline directly. You can also search for the sale at travel websites such as Expedia or Travelocity, etc.
