Spoleto Festival USA is an annual arts and crafts festival that takes place in Charleston, S.C.

"Oyster," inspired by a short story by movie director Tim Burton, is a dance that will be performed by Inbal Pinto & Avshalon Pollak Dance Company at the 2010 Spoleto Festival.

The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater performed at the 2009 Spoleto Festival USA, as will Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet. Pictured are Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's Jamar Roberts, Amos J. Machanic and Olivia Bowman.

Soledad Barrio is the lead dancer of the group Noche Flamenca which performed at Spoleto Festival USA 2009.

New York-based contemporary dance company Shen Wei Dance Arts returned to the 2007 Spoleto Festival USA.

At the 2007 Spoleto Festival, the blind angel (Heather Buck), whose costume looks like the Louvre's "Winged Victory" come to life, calls to Faustus. Modernist and dissonant, "Faustus, The Last Night" (with Heather Buck) was cheered by the audience.

Legendary Japanese kabuki performer Gojo Masanosuke performed the role of the geisha in the world premiere of Geisha, a new work co-commissioned by Spoleto Festival USA and TheatreWorks (Singapore), at the 2006 Spoleto Festival.

Brenda Angiel Aerial Dance Company in South Wall and After Dance. Appealing aerial maneuvers: Tethered to bungee cords and steel cables, Argentine choreographer Brenda Angiel's troupe nimbly defies gravity and convention at the Spoleto Festival USA, 2001-2002.
