See Ireland in winter for $519.90 round-trip

Airfare deals to Ireland from Atlanta are rarely discounted and round-trip prices often hover around the $700-$800 mark during spring and autumn -- and much higher during peak summer months.

Travelers might not find the Emerald Isle an ideal spot to visit during the winter, but those that like a bargain and a country free of tourist throngs will love this offer from Continental Airlines.

The carrier prices round-trip travel to Shannon at $201, or $519.90 inclusive of all taxes, fees and surcharges.

To qualify, give a two-week advance purchase notice and depart through March 31, 2011. This rate is valid on Sunday-Thursday departures and return flights scheduled Monday-Thursday. Other travel days are $15 more.

One nice feature of this sale is no holiday blackouts. Although peak year-end dates are likely to be few and far between.

Continental tacks a ticket-by date of Nov. 30 on this offer, but don't fall for it. This rate is about $200 less than the competition and Continental will likely make the adjustment today or Thursday. Act fast.

Continental serves Shannon with connecting service in Newark, N.J.

Sale fares listed here are subject to change. Every seat on every flight is not offered at the lowest rate. Since only a limited supply of seats is available, act quickly to make your purchase. I recommend starting the search for available seats at Kayak.com vs. calling an airline directly. You can also search for the sale at travel Web sites such as Expedia or Travelocity, etc. Airlines can discontinue or pull a sale price without notice when the offer is deemed "sold out."
