Legoland Florida and Peppa Pig Theme Park are both properties of Merlin Entertainment Group, a British company. The Peppa Pig attraction is going up in a section of Legoland’s original parking lot. The two parks will have separate entrances.
“Peppa Pig” is a gentle British animated series seen in 180 countries. Peppa is 4 years old, likes jumping in puddles and wears a red dress. It also features her Pig family and an assortment of other animal characters.
The Peppa Pig attraction is based on that children’s series, and the park is developed with preschoolers in mind. It includes smaller-scale rides such as Grandad Dog’s Pirate Boat Ride, Grampy Rabbit’s Dinosaur Adventure and Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster. Most of the attractions are designed for kids and adults to ride together.
“We spent a lot of time on the idea of color palettes, characters to use and their corresponding rides and stories to come along with it because it is so iconic,” said Keith Carr, director of design and construction. “Everything is very, very specific to the brand.”
Other park attractions include Madame Gazelle’s Nature Trail and the Muddy Puddles Splash Pad. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to peppapigthemepark.com.
