Mansion Madam' selling infamous home

Lisa Ann Taylor, the so-called “Mansion Madam” who captured national headlines with sordid allegations of running a brothel in one of metro Atlanta’s most exclusive neighborhoods, has put her home in Duluth's Sugarloaf Country Club back on the market.

The sturdy brick Georgian architecture features a varied roofline and imposing two-story portico with columns. The the 10,000-square-foot home is listed at $1.05 million. Darrell Bacon of Re/Max is handling the sale.

The entrance foyer features an ornate crystal chandelier and a large flower arrangement. "I wanted something that looked very Ritz-Carlton when you came through the door," Taylor said.

The great room features built-in bookcases and arched windows for abundant light. Taylor and her first husband built the five-bedroom, five-and-a-half bath home "as an investment" for $960,000 in 1999.

Those arched windows overlook a spacious deck. The home includes views of the eighth fairway and ninth tee of Sugarloaf's championship golf course. "As enormous as it is, it's quite cozy. She's got it decorated so nicely," Bacon said. "There's plenty of warmth in this thing. You can't get lost in it, or cold."

The rim-lit dome resembles a moonscape.

Taylor herself painted the great room columns with their gold crowns. The former Penthouse model pleaded guilty in October 2007 to prostitution and drug charges. She was given seven years' probation and ordered to pay a $150,000 fine within a year but received an extension. She now has until March to pay.

The vaulted keeping room in is one of Taylor's favorite spots in the house because of the walls painted in a golden-yellow color she calls bourbon and two-story stackstone fireplace, one of four in the home. Taylor said she wanted to impart a rustic feel to the room.

The keeping room flows naturally into the kitchen with its cherry-colored cabinets. Taylor has been doing charity work, hoping that if she is unable to pay the fine authorities will allow her to work it off through community service.

Bill, one of Taylor's four cats, perches regally on the kitchen's green Ubatuba counter. She likes her Bosch dishwasher because it quietly runs without interfering with conversation in the keeping room.

A double convection oven by Thermador eases meal preparation on holidays and other high-demand occasions, Taylor said. Next to it, a steaming drawer helps keep food warm or can be used to heat hand towels for guests.

This cozy breakfast nook is tucked away next to the kitchen and keeping room.

Taylor's silver spoon collection, displayed in the dining room, features engraved spoons her grandmother gave her on her birthdays when she was growing up. She has augmented the collection with ones purchased during her travels.

The formal dining room features one of Taylor's prized crystal chandeliers as well as more focused pin lights over the table to highlight centerpiece arrangements.

Taylor and her interior decorator chose luxurious textured fabrics in olive and gold tones to accent the red walls in the master suite.

Another of Taylor's cats makes herself at home on the faux mink throw in the bedroom. The painting over the bed is called "Little Dragon.

A self-professed "shoe freak," Taylor displays these embedded-rose stilettoes in her carefully organized walk-in closet. These days, she tends bar and occasionally dances at Doll House on Cheshire Bridge Road, where she goes by her stage name, Melissa Wolf.

Taylor, a Frank Sinatra fan, never met the famed singer but keeps an autographed photo on her dresser next to her perfume collection.

Taylor keeps Jenna Jameson's "How to Make Love Like a Porn Star" on a table near the chaise in her master bedroom. She thanks her employer for giving her a chance "to get financially back on my feet again. It's been a very difficult road, and it's nice to know that in the adult business, we're one big family."

The spacious master bath features this inlaid Santa Maria medallion at its entrance.

Taylor and her decorator chose a tropical motif for this upstairs guest room, contrasting dark woods and fabrics with beige walls and ivory rugs.

Taylor's British grandmother gave her this silver tea set on Lisa's 16th birthday. It is displayed in an upstairs guest room where she keeps a number of family momentoes.

For this upstairs guest room, Taylor departed from her contemporary motif for a more traditional look. She said some of her friends believe this room is haunted because it always remains cooler than the rest of the house.
